As I sit down now to take a breath and think about Day 1 at Xerocon South, so many emotions surface so much comes to mind. Wow! Amazing! Inspiring! Exciting time ahead!
This is the biggest Xerocon in history with 2,369 participants and 91 exhibitors. You can just imagine the atmosphere at this event.
The day began with Trent Innes, Xero MD for Australia; and Anna Curzon, Xero MD for New Zealand taking us through the last 12 months of the Xero Journey and additionally the Next Generation of the Xero Partner Program. An amazing statistic from Trent’s presentation is “Only 51% of small businesses survive over 5 years. However if they are on Xero, 88% of them survive the 5 year journey”. So get on board the Xero train!
Next up we had Dandapani, who is a Hindu priest and entrepreneur. He took us on a journey of the mind, teaching us about the power of concentration and how it benefits us in both our business and personal lives. He then went on to talk to us about Energy Management and how important it is for us to use our energy like money. Savour it and use it sparingly.
Then Laura Cardinal, Head of Product talked about how Xero is committed to building a global platform that helps businesses stay well connected to other people and services.
Next up we had a couple of the Product Managers talking about new features emerging as well as the product roadmap for the future. Amazing new integration with BPAY; Paypal and Veda were mentioned.
Lastly, Andy Lark; CMO spoke about how Xero was becoming a Platform, not just an Accounting system. He ended off talking about Xero’s purpose ” To rewire the small business economy to thrive through beautiful cloud software, advice and connections”
